What it involves

The apostille is a formality arising from the 1961 Hague Convention that authenticates the origin of a public document intended for a signatory country. It certifies the capacity of the person who signed the deed and the authenticity of the seal or stamp affixed to it.

Affixed by the competent authority, it dispenses with any further legalisation in the member States of the Convention. The notary first prepares and certifies the deeds concerned, then guides you through the apostille process with the authority responsible for issuing it.
